👋 About Me

My name is Jessica Chan (MBACP). I’m a multilingual Counsellor and a former international student. I moved to the UK in my early teenage years and have also spent time living in Mainland China and Hong Kong, which has given me a deep appreciation of the cultural nuances between different Chinese regions and communities.

I understand how challenging it can be to learn in a new language, adopt an unfamiliar culture, and try to find your place—whether in the classroom, socially, or within yourself. This is why I offer therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, so you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural and comforting.

While I have personal insight into the Chinese international student experience, I also work with students from all cultural backgrounds. I know that navigating multiple identities—between cultures, languages, and expectations—can feel confusing, conflicting, and isolating. Whether you’re trying to integrate into a new environment or reconciling who you are now with who you’ve always been, therapy can offer a space to explore that safely and openly.

Over the past seven years, I’ve supported international students attending UK boarding schools, working in roles that involve safeguarding and pastoral care. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges young people face when navigating cultural transitions, academic pressure, and identity development in unfamiliar environments. I’m especially attuned to the complexity of belonging and the ways in which cultural, personal, and family influences shape how we see ourselves.

I bring a gentle, integrative approach—rooted in lived experience, cultural understanding, and deep respect for your journey.
